Physician Assistant - Family Health

Matrix Providers is hiring a Physician Assistant- Family Health to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.

  • Employment Status: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The schedule is maintained by clinic personnel based on demands of the clinic and appointments booked that day.
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly. $60.66-$63.65/hr

Physician Assistant - Family Health must have and meet the following:

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Certification:
    • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA). Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA).
    • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience: Have actively practiced as a Family Medicine - Physician Assistant for 24 months within the last 36 months, and are able to demonstrate current clinical competency. Current clinical competency is verifiable by clinical activity logs submitted by the previous medical institutions
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.

Job duties:

  • Provide comprehensive Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty care within scope of practice and MTF privileges.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare needs.
  • Perform patient examinations, screenings, immunizations, and routine medical procedures.
  • Recognize emergency conditions, provide appropriate treatment, and refer complex cases to physicians or specialists.
  • Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications and immunizations according to approved protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within established clinical guidelines.
  • Promote preventive medicine, health education, wellness, and patient self-management strategies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to coordinate quality patient care.
  • Provide clinical guidance, training, and education to staff and participate in meetings and quality improvement activities.
  • Educate patients and families, maintain infection control standards, and communicate healthcare plans effectively.
