Physician - Family Medicine I $20K Sign on Bonus

We are hiring a board-certified Physician - Family Medicine to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our U.S. military and their families at Evans Army Community Hospital located at Fort Carson CO.

  • Status: Independent Contractor (1099) | Full-time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly
    • $180-$190/hr
    • $20K Sign on Bonus
  • Schedule: This position has the following shifts: Mon-Fri, 0730-1630. Hours are subject to change, and may include nights, weekends, or home call if future need arises. The Contract employee shall work no more than 40 hours per week without prior authorization from the supervisor or department chief.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
  • Education: Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support : Shall have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience: Have actively practiced as a Family Medicine-Physician or in training for 24 months within the last 36 months and are able to demonstrate current clinical competency. Current clinical competency is verifiable by clinical activity logs submitted by the previous medical institutions.
  • Board Certification Required: Must have certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists. Internship/Residency/Fellowship: Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.

Core Duties:

  • Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of clinical privileges or responsibilities.
  • Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
  • Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.

Additional Information:

  • Work Schedule & Patient Volume: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with a 12:00–1:00 p.m. lunch. First patient at 7:50 a.m. and last patient typically at 3:40–3:50 p.m. Average workload is 20 patients per day—11 in the morning and 9 in the afternoon.
  • Fast-Paced, Team-Oriented Environment: Primary care clinic serving Active-Duty Soldiers’ family members and retirees, with appointments scheduled every 20 minutes. Providers work collaboratively and support one another.
  • Onboarding & Training: Typically takes 4–6 weeks, depending on hospital orientation, credentialing, and familiarity with MHS Genesis. Providers gradually ramp up from 1-hour appointments to the standard 20-minute schedule based on their comfort level.
  • Scheduling Expectations: A traditional Monday–Friday schedule is expected. A 4/5/9 alternate work schedule may be discussed, but four 10-hour days are not an option.
  • Multidisciplinary Clinic: The provider team includes physicians, NPs, PAs, Active-Duty clinicians, civilian staff, and contractors. The clinic works closely with Evans Pediatrics and supports a broad range of procedures, including Sports Medicine and OMT capabilities.
