Matrix Providers is hiring a Medical Office Clerk- Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), 8901 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD.

• Employment Status: Full-time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly
• Schedule: M-F 0730-1630

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalency.
• Experience: 3 years of clerical experience (i.e. MSA / Medical Clerk /Administrative Support/General Clerk.

Mandatory knowledge and skills:

• Contract employees shall have a medical background and training that is equivalent or comparable the training requirements of one or more of these programs (certification or licensures are not required):
• Physical Therapy Technician (military), Physical Therapy Assistant (civilian), Licensed Vocational Nurse or LPN, Military Corpsman or Medic, Occupational Therapy Technician (military), Occupation Therapy Assistant (civilian) Chiropractic Assistant, Chiropractic Technician, Certified Athletic Trainer, Medical Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and articulate information regarding the major muscles, c. bones and systems.
• Must have current Basic Life Support Automated External Defibrillator (BLS/AED) resuscitative medicine training certificate. Resuscitative medicine training provided by the Joint Medical Training Facility (MTF) or Center.
• Typing skills 45 words per minute minimum.
• Speak clear legible English in order to allow for tactful and diplomatic relations with all levels of staff patients and their families.
• Knowledge of indications and contraindications and generalized physiological effects of physical modalities and be able to recognize contraindications to modalities and procedures.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

The work is primarily sedentary. However, there may be some physical demands. Requirements include prolonged walking, standing, sitting or bending.

Unique military health care systems/procedures:

• (MHS Genesis) formally known as the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA). Contractor HCP shall attend training in the use of MHS Genesis.

• Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
